YambaChild Ministry was established in 2014 in Bwambara, a rural village in Rukungiri district South-western Uganda. Founded with the mission of empowering orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC's) with educational resources, the ministry now serves 50 kids, providing school supplies, healthcare, socio-emotional support, and spiritual growth for holistic child development.
Keneth Ndyamuhaki, a fellow with UrbanPromise International, is planning to return to YambaChild Ministry this May. He will be starting an after-school program, summer camp, feeding program, poultry project that will specifically target teens who have dropped out of school and are in need of academic support.
This will be UPI's second site in Uganda.
